It's time to say goodbye...

When I was starting to write in this blog, I thank that every post will be a tedious. And now, when I am starting my last post, I think the same. Ok, I am a pessimist and boring, but since I start a post, I start to count how many words fail me to finish the minimum requirements.

Maybe it wasn’t the hardest work and sometimes the act of write relax me, however, a work is a work and an obligation is an obligation; so I couldn’t
enjoy this experience how I would wish.

To have a blog wasn’t too a great experience. To have a web page could see as an opportunity to express my opinion and my ideas but, I really didn’t use this blog as a space to express this. Anyway, this kind of use and apply my English, maybe is the most friendly way to do a English
work, more than the classroom classes, or more than homeworks

Finally, I could say that the entire course was a great experience. It met its purpose, I think that I learnt more of English and I could practice this language in practice, both writing in blog, as in classroom, speaking and listening.

I just don’t know what to write else, so the only sentence I can say is…

That’s all folks!

State terrorism in middle east... again

The picture was not taked by an artist. I suppose that this picture had to be taken by a pressman and, to take it, had to be difficult for him in the conditions of the situation.

Last month, our eyes went to a little piece of land that is a place of conflict and oppression. When a boat full of food and humanitarian aid tried to break the Israeli blockade in the Palestine gaza’s fringe, the Israeli secret service and the navy arrived to stop this humanitarian act. But the Israeli army wasn’t arrived only for the aid that the European boat brought to the Palestinians, or for the “maritime space invasion” that was the isreali excuse for the attack. The Israelis attack the boat principally because inside the boat were many important artists, a Nobel prize and many European and Turkish politicians, who may have developed a critical international relationship crisis for the fictitious Jewish state in middle east.

Israel has done the things that want to do with his Arabian neighbours. First able, this state was created as a “war compensation” after the Second World War and the holocaust, but it was created in a Palestinian territory, nation who disappear as a state and who had to live in militarized zones controlled by the Israeli government. After years of negotiations Israel acceded to give back two areas that could be control by Palestinian autonomous governments, but when this governments in Palestinian areas goes against the Israeli interests, this state responds with violence and a economic blockade, situation that doesn’t happen only in Palestine...

The ONGs and solidarity groups help with humanitarian aid to Palestinian people, but these organizations understand that is more important to express his repudiation against who produce his situation that is the Israeli state.

A trip for the stickiness

After a busy day, after a long night full of works and study, my imagination is not working very well. So, I can’t be creative with a topic because I’m only thinking in the hours of sleeping that I didn’t sleep and the millions of things that I have to do.

I’ll write about the first thing that came to my mind, and the winner is… the public transport. It was my first idea of writing because I can’t take out of my mind the sticky song used to force the users of “transantiago” to pay its trip.

In this blog I don’t want to say how if I hate or I love the buses or the subway, I only want to say how sticky is the public transport in our city. The first way to be sticked in our lives is related with the music of the system since its birth. How can we forget the music of the birth of transantiago sung by bus drivers and soccer players or the newest song: “No meta la mano ahí”? The subway and the buses are the stickiest thing in the entire world. Who hasn’t feel like a soup with 40 Celsius degrees into full buses or drowned in the doors of the subway wagons?Everything in the buses is sticky. If you don’t believe me, I challenge you to put your hand under the seats.

Anyway, this is the only way that I have to travel to the university. And I have to learn how to begin to love it.

MP3 rules!

OK. I know that this object isn’t the newest thing in market, artifacts like mp4 or ipod, are more useful and better than a simple mp3, but this simple pendrive that play music, is really cool for me and for my pocket.

I got my first mp3 three years ago, when everybody had it. It was a gift for Christmas and the mp3 hadn’t so much memory, however this thing was better than the CD player.

A good quality of this artifact is its simplicity. You have to download music from the internet and put it in your mp3 connected to the computer by usb port, after that is very simple to play music.

Its simplicity and its economy to buy and to use (my mp3 is charged by a computer), make that I use it constantly. I try to listen music in my diary travels in public transport and when the class is boring… This little pendrive really makes my life a bit happiest. It’s really difficult have a good time in subway or in bus when you don’t have music to listen. Also it makes me concentrate in public transport when I want to study.

Without It I would die!!!

Monsieur Durkheim

Émile Durkheim was a French sociologist that (With Karl Marx and Max Weber) is called the father of the sociology and one of the three classics in this area of the knowledge. He was born in a little town in the north of France in 1858 and he was part of a Jewish family. When Émile grew up he was discovered that the way of his father (the father of Durkheim was a “Rabbi”) wasn’t his way of live and he went to study to Paris, Where he read a lot of the positivist social scientists like Herbert Spencer and Auguste Comte. At the end of the XIX century and in the beginning of the XX, Durkheim wrote all of his most important books. In 1892 he wrote “The Division of labour in society”, in 1895 “The rules of the sociologic method” and in 1912 “The elementary forms of religious life”, books that explain a theory of the “social fact” who, for Durkheim is a fact that you can study scientific and objectively. This is not a guy that I admire in sociology at all, in fact, I don’t think that this guy was right with all of his objectivism and his way to find the truth, but in my month of university life, is the only one that I have seen in classes.

That's the truth

The objective truth...

mmm...

Ok. Let’s see the things that I like. Maybe we can talk about a topic that you won’t listen in this year… The Fifa world cup. This competition was born in 1930 and the first World Cup was developed in Uruguay. After Uruguay, the world cups were realized every four years, except in the years of the Second World War.Until the 70’s the world cup wasn’t really “world cup” because the Asian, the African and the Oceania countries didn’t participate in it, but the market that can do everything, made possible that the Indonesian fisherman, the Turkish shepherd and the Bolivian farmer watch the TV the entire year praying for the classification of their national teams. This “Football globalization” is the phenomenon that leads the Cup to Japan and Korea (They have never played football before the World Cup) in 2002, and most recently to South Africa, a country without a tradition of good football.
This is the first time that we’ll see a World Cup in Africa, and thank god that we’ll be there and not only watching it…
